  • Nizwa Fort Muscat

    Nizwa Fort Muscat is the oldest castle in Oman. It was built in the 17th century by the first imam of the Ya’aruba dynasty Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya'rubi and took 12 years to complete. It was designed to be a stronghold during conflict and also as an administration center for the Imams and Walis. Located 120 km from Muscat, it is the most visited fort in Oman. It attracts about 45,000 visitors a year. You will also find a renovated museum there. Check out what the exhibits say about the ancient culture and traditions of Oman.
